Yochanan Avraham

Shalom Aleichem, my name is Yochanan. Ever since I had found Yiddishkeit, I made it my life's mission to let everyone know the positive outcome it has been for me to know Hashem. Please join me in my journey or just enjoy the ride from the onset, one thing is clear. its going to be one heck of a ride.

It all started for me back in 09' when I wasn't sure about the J man anymore and was doubting my belief in G-d as a whole. I met a wonderful young man who was just my age and had already had a few children and was a Rabbi. after much talking and yearning for truth, Prayers with my Creator, I decided to try the Noahide life.

After many years of study and many years of wanting to grow. I left the Noahide movement to go to Judaism. It was a journey that had to be done. I just couldn't wait for what was lying ahead.

I started to go to my local Shul in my neighborhood. After just one night, I was hooked. I went to every morning and evening Minyan, every Shabbos, every Yom Tov, you name the event and I was there. It was an interesting journey to say they least. I met some wonderful people, and some not so wonderful people. It was the path Hashem wanted for me.

Now I do online study and podcast VOD (videos on demand) for people to learn and ponder on. everything from the weekly parsha to what it means to believe in G-d. Please feel free to join in and have a experience like no other.

James, The Idol Smasher

Shalom, my name is James. My journey with Torah began nearly 25 years ago. Raised in the Episcopal church, but became more of a seeker in my adolescence. Like Jethro, or a honey bee who went from flower to flower, I took great interest in the human condition, religions and so forth and what one might laughingly call our greater potential. In the end it was martial arts and secular Buddhism that allowed me to find a moral center throughout my journeys.

My discovery of Torah came out of the blue, and merely as a matter of curiosity. Urban legend back then had it that if I were to learn about this "kabbalah" that I had heard about, I would be eating from the Tree of Life in Eden. It was serious stuff, and not for the young. Well I was a sucker for that sort of thing. I wanted to be a hero. What I learned was that "kabbalah" was an introduction to my Creator, it meant the Torah - a new thing I had actually been familiar with all my life - The Bible! (or most of it) It meant Judaism - something of which I never really ever considered. One could say from that moment, that very night I bought the book, I was hooked and I never looked back. I was literally smitten.

Today I remain a Ger/ Ben Noah, a keeper of the Sefer Sheva Mitzvot Hashem, the Seven Laws of Noah as transmitted at Sinai. I currently residing out in the fields of Kansas with my wife and our two daughters. Pretty much a Torah or bust kind of guy, but I also love 11 meter (Citizen Band) radio, classic Doctor Who, good beer, Elvis and a friendly game of poker.

Below are a few of my links, including my YouTube page where you can find a playlist of all the Torah and Friends Weekly Podcast and some Torah on air hangouts from years past with Yochanan. Thank for stopping my and be sure to tune in - and join in the Torah and Friends podcast every Saturday, beginning when Shabbat ends Eastern Standard Time.

Shalom
